How do we contact you?

How long do pre-orders take to ship out?

Pre-order items are made to order and typically take approximately 2 months to be produced and shipped. During certain periods, production may take up to 3 months.

Please note that pre-orders placed in January or February may require the full 3-month production window, as our manufacturing partner closes for most of February in observance of Chinese New Year.

If you place a pre-order together with an in-stock item, both items will be shipped together once the pre-order is ready, as the shipping rate is calculated for a combined shipment. If you would like your in-stock item to ship immediately, please place it as a separate order.

Do you take returns/exchanges?

We accept refund and exchange requests under our Returns & Exchanges policy, which allows eligible refunds and exchanges within 20 days of delivery. Visit our Refunds & Exchanges page for details.

Why are your prices only in USD?

At this time, despite being located in Canada, Blackwood Castle operates in USD because our store does not use Shopify Payments, which is required to enable a currency switcher on Shopify. We have explored various third-party solutions, but unfortunately, all of them depend on Shopify Payments to function.

While we understand that shopping in your local currency would be more convenient, international customers can still check out using their preferred payment method, and the total will be automatically converted by their bank or payment provider at the current exchange rate.

Why do you use polyester in some of your items?

When we started Blackwood Castle, we were committed to using only vegan, natural fabrics. Building an ethically made and sustainable brand was at the heart of everything we did. But as we grew, we faced a few real-world challenges—natural fabrics like cotton often wrinkled easily, lacked stretch, and significantly increased the cost of our pieces. That made it harder to keep our designs accessible to the people we care about.

While it’s not our ideal, we sometimes use polyester blends to create garments that are wearable, affordable, and long-lasting. We do our best to offset this by producing in small, limited runs to minimize waste, and we’re always looking for natural or lower-impact alternatives that fit within our designs and price point.

Blackwood Castle has always been about intention—making fashion with care, compassion, and transparency. That includes being honest about the trade-offs we make.

 

What are the washing instructions?

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours, hang dry. 

 

Are duties included in the price?

You are responsible to pay any duties or taxes on items purchased, if applicable.
